For more than 80 years now, the REVUE du VIN de FRANCE is by far the reference Wine magazine in France, with subscribers all over the world. Revue du Vin de France publish every year a very impartial Guide of the 1000 best wineries in France, 100% revised for every issue.  The selection is made from the notes all over the year for the Revue du Vin de France magazine and a specific additional tasting for the Guide, this year assisted by Olivier POUSSIER, Best World Sommelier in 2000, Antoine GERBELLE and Olivier POELS.

Domaine SIPP-MACK Alsace enter the 2008 Guide with very encouraging and highly deserved comments:

The Estate: This Hunawihr domain enters into the guide due to the real personnality of their Riesling Grand Cru 2006. The domain's strong points are their Riesling Grand Cru Rosacker and Grand Cru Osterberg as well as the Pinot Gris Grand Cru Osterberg. The style of their wines is classic without too much sweetness. A range of wines with freshness and minerality. The ''Vendanges Tardives'' and ''Selection de Grains Nobles'', while not the most extremely fine terms of sugar & alcohol, are sincere and straight forward.

The Wines: The Riesling Vieilles Vignes 2005 is serious and ample while remaining full of finesse. The Grand Cru Rosacker is loyal to it's terroir: ripe, ample and rich. The 2005 is distinguished by it's harmony. The 2004 is easier to approach; the wine is smooth with a bit less acidity. The serie of Grand Cru Osterberg shows the succesful evolution of this domain. The 2005 is our favourite, in a style less generous than the Rosacker, but just as delicious. The 2004 evolves on notes of infusions and roots, an elegant frame. The 2002 remains fresh with firm, excellent flavours.
