It is harvesting time in the Nantais area. Busy time of the year for the producers, and peak season as well for reviews, with the publication of numerous Wine Guides abroad and in France, rating the vintage on sales or previous ones. For the Domaine des HERBAUGES... it is realy a "harvest of awards". Rated with great comments by the 2008 BETTANE & DESSEAUVE Guides des Vins de France (see our site), or by the French million copies Guide HACHETTE des Vins including a Coup de Coeur (full details in our site within few days), Domaine des HERBAUGES is rated for two Muscadets Cotes de GrandLieu in the last WINE ADVOCATE, August 31st - 2007 Issue # 172.

CLOS de la FINE 2005 Vintage : "Jerome and Luc CHOBLET's Muscadet Cotes de GrandLieu Clos de la Fine - from a flinty, relatively clay-rich soil - smells of fresh lemon, yeast, and grain in a wheat-beer sort of way, but with hints of jasmin, almond, sea breeze and pugnent herbs adding further interest. Lush and yet refreshing on the palate, it offers a distinctive combination of salt and chalk minerality with creamy almond, peach and milled grain richness."  89pts

CLOS de la SENAIGERIE 2005 Vintage : " Clos de la Senaigerie- from mica-schiste soils - displays a saline, pungently nutty nose. In the mouth, this has a genuine schiste-licking mineral character, indeed a saturation of salt and stone that reminds a cross between a dry Mosel Riesling and a Chablis: not a bad thing at all! Peach pit, toasted, salted almond, iodine and wet stone cling almost indelibly, yet for all its mineral emphasis this wine remains satisfactory succulent as well as hugely refreshing."  90pts
