Chateau de VALOIS - 2nd Best Bordeaux wine (after ROLLAN de BY & LANGOA BARTON...)
FRANCE - HP
C - Intense hue, very dense. N - Intense, dense aromas of iron, earth, fur, long lasting bouquet - P - Nice balance, great tannins, very racy, invading the mouth, superb length, great acidity, spices, very complex.
SWEDEN - AL
C - Clear, intense dark ruby. N - Generous bouquet, dark berries, flowers and cedar wood, touch of oak. P - Still young, but structured, plenty of tannin, ripe, good fruit and freshness, fine presistence, feminine and elegant.
USA - VP
C - High viscosity, purple center, pink rim. N - Fruit and spices notes, hint of earth, very good quality, moderate + intensity. P - Lacks a little fruit, earth, but very good quality, a little young out of balance. Long persistence. Shows signs of youth, but well structured and will be good with time.
SPAIN - TP
C - Clean, brilliant, medium density, intense, Bigarreau red cherry. N - Highly intense bouquet, very pronounced, ripe fruit with notes of cooked plums and strawberry; backdrop of spices and pepper with tones of mountain herbs. P - Ligth in mouth, but actually very elegant presentation with fresh, light sweet, well integrated acidity, very well balanced wine of great quality and attraction. Controlled structure, very deep and long persistence.

Chateau de VALOIS
FRANCE - HP
C - Intense core with red ruby rims. N - Great extraction of spices, black fruits, earthiness, moderate persistence. P - Smooth tannins, medium body, great harmony of spices and black fruits.
SWEDEN - AL
C - Ruby garnet. N - Dark berries, minerals, slightly closed. P - Still young and tannic but good structure, long.
ITALY - GV:
C - Clean, consistent, deep ruby red. N - Well fruited, lightly wooded, quite fine, relatively intense. P - Full bodied, supple, slightly tannic, fine quality flavors, fairly well balanced, very good persistence. Very good.
USA - MS
C - Beautiful, great viscosity, extraordinary ruby robe. N - Some sweetness, subtle wood, seemingly fine quality aromas, good intensity. P - Very sophisticated in mouth, very fine flavor expression and quality, excellent balance and management of tannin, good length, slightly tannic finish.
SPAIN - TP
C - Clean, brilliant, intense red Whiteheart cherry. N - Ripe forest fruit, animal notes, tobacco, coffee, hint of scrub and mountain herbs. P  - Powerful, developing into notes of full flavored fruit, noble tannins which will integrate, well balanced, round medium persistent wine. Tannins show potential to mellow nicely into body of wine.
JAPAN - MO:
C - Dense, somber, strong, dark black ruby. N - Closed. Forceful minerality "terroir", leather, cloves, chocolate, concentrated aromatic expression, fair presence of oak, complex bouquet. P - Nicely ripe fruit with plenty of spice, round and well fleshed, quite astringent, good quality, well balanced, good concentration of flavor and structure, not very long persistence. Needs to be kept for sometime to show its potential.

FRANCE - HP
C - Purple, intense color in the core with red hues. N - Elegant aromas of spices with earthy character, toasty wood not too pronounced but elegant and persistent. P - Good presence of tannins, good grip! Acidity inegrated, dry fruits, smoky almond, finish on spices.
SWEDEN - AL
C - Damp earth, flowery, dark berries, complex. P - Good grip, nice fruit and freshness, good tannic, backbone, nice length.
ITALY - GV:
C - Clean, consistent, deep ruby red. N - Red fruit. light spice aromas, fine and quite intense. Good, quite complex bouquet. P - Quite supple, full bodied, somewhat tannic, average flavors, nicely balanced, persistent. Good and discret. 
USA - MS
C - Deeply hued, very dark. N - Subtle fruits notes, average expression of aromas, modest intensity. P - Good flavor. Needs some time.
SPAIN - TP
C - Clean, brilliant, intense red cherry. N - Jammy ripe fruit, scrub and mountain herb notes, hint of balsamic. Good intensity. P - Powerful, developing flavors, very attractive, fruit charged flavors, absorbing the wood notes. Very fine quality, noble tannins which will integrate completely with time and add a polish finish to the time. Lovely balance, long and lingering persistence. Very nice wine.
JAPAN - MO:
C - Somber, strong dark, black ruby. N - Red fruit, light spice aromas, fine and quite intense. Good, quite complex bouquet. P - Quite supple, full bodied, somewhat tannic, average flavors, nicely balanced, persistent. Good and discreet.

Chateau de VALOIS
FRANCE - HP
C - Intense ruby red. N - Very floral, iris, violets, plum, prune. Attractive aromatic presence, quite elegant, medium + intensity and finish. P - Earthy, tar and liquorice with dried fruit, almond and nut.
SWEDEN - AL
C - Clear, dark, ruby purple. N - Very elegant nose, autumn fruit, coffee, leather and gingerbread. P - Dry with elegant fruit, marked tannins, good freshness and length.
USA - MS
C - Clean, quite dense, excellent depth. N - shut down at present. P- Sweet, compelling fruit, very good quality flavors, even quite elegant expression, good length and persisence. Fine wine with great potential.
SPAIN - TP
C - Clean and brilliant, deep, dark cherry red. N - Red fruit and liquer, balsamic notes, touch lactic, scrub and herbal aromas, very fines expression with deep elegance and good complexity, intensity and length. P - Powerful attack becoming elegant on the tongue, slightly tannic but with noble, well integrating and blending wood. Excellent fruit exprression. Lovely balance. Complex and top quality, very long, fine persistency. Wonderful wine.
JAPAN - MO:
C - Quite clear, fairly dense, attractive, very deep, garnet. Very much Merlot appearance. N - Blueberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant, very attractive concentration, lovely fragrance, top quality aromatic expression, elegant and deep, fairly intense and complex. P - Lovely maturity of the grapes, attractive, sweet spice, very great quality, elegant and rich, fine balance of components, long and persistent. Excellent wine!

Chateau LEYDET-VALENTIN
FRANCE - HP
C - Intense, almost black. N- Ripe, Kirsch, liquorice, dark cherry,  marmalade. High alcohol tones, very intense and deeply complex. P - Tones of black cherry, plum, prune with vanilla and violets. Great balance and structure, high quality tannins, very persistent, complex and intense. Excellent.
SWEDEN - AL
C - Clear, dark ruby purple. N - Elegant and developed bouquet, wild berries, smoke and truffles. P - Very elegant, berries, spices, a fresh acidity, structured, smooth and long.
ITALY - GV:
C - Clear, dense, profound ruby. N - Well fruited, very good quality aromatic expression, elegant and complex, intense finish. P - Round bodied, fine flavors, well balanced, quite elegant, very fine finish ligering sensations. Very attractive wine.
USA - MS:
C - Clean, dense, very dark. N - Lean and tight bouquet, good quality, compact, shy rather than intense. P - Pretty fruit, good quality flavors, good length. Very good wine with great potential.
SPAIN - TP
C - Clean, brilliant, deep, ark cherry red. N - Very ripe, jammy, cooked, black fuit, smoky and caramel aromas, toffee and chocolate, pepper and cloves, leather, complex and quite elegant, very good intensity with lingering finish. P - Light attack turning silky and faintly tannic at the end. Lovely quality flavor expression with the fine balance of components, excellent persistence. Very good wine.
JAPAN - MO:
C - Lovely clarity, dense, quite deep purple, garnet, blackcurrant, black nuances. N - Floral notes, well fruited, very integrated aromas, fine quality, quite elegantly expressed, intense and very fine complexity. P - Still young in the mouth, needs time, not yet very well rounded out, quality flavors, well balanced and moderate length and persistence. Give this wine another couple of years to mellow and come together. The bouquet is delightful but the palate is quite closed on itself.
